With a rating of 4.7 and 2,491 reviews this has got to be one of the highest rated and most popular fish and chip shops in the region. 

One reviewer said: "What a great place! The service was friendly, the portions were generous and the flavours were delicious.

"They offer unlimited chips too which was a welcome bonus. Also highly recommend the honeycomb ice cream."

Another added: "You will not find a better chippy.

"It's literally the best in Bournemouth and all surrounding areas."

2. Chips Ahoy! East Howe Lane, Bournemouth

This fish and chip shop has impressed its customers with 366 reviews and a 4.7 rating. 

"Make the the trip to East Howe to get great friendly service and quality food," one review says.

Another said: "Excellent fish and chip shop - always friendly and fast service, quality fish and very nice chips.

"Like the fact they give you a paper bag with handles. Cash or card no problem. First class, well done."

And another happy customer added: "The chips are always freshly cooked. Crispy and tasty, not soggy."

3. Castle Parade Fish and Chip Shop, Iford

This eatery has 94 Google reviews, with a rating of 4.5 overall. 

One reads: "I really love this chippy! Never had a bad take away from there and it is very reasonably priced compared to others in the surrounding area.

"Would 100 per-cent recommend. Just don't forget you would need cash as no cards accepted which is a little annoying."

One said: "Huge portions. Standard cod and chips would probably be fine for two people. Batter on the fish was just right for crispness."

Another person said: "Probably one of the best fish and chips in Bournemouth and the price / value ratio is excellent. Highly recommended."

And it seems plenty of people agree with them, as it has a rating of 4.5 from 203 reviews. 

6. Smithson's Fish and Chips, Seabourne Road

Popular Smithson's has a rating of 4.6 and a total of 421 reviews.

One reviewer said: "Absolutely brilliant take away. We ordered online and used the car pick up service.

"The order was ready when we arrived and still piping hot. All we had to do was call and it was delivered to our car. Couldn't recommend more." 

Another said: "Got to be the best fish and chips in Bournemouth, it may not be the best looking chippy in town but the food is excellent."

And a third said: "Best chippy in Southbourne by a country mile. Quality, value and consistency - what's not to like?
