“Put that light out.”
The familiar shriek of Bill Pertwee was not heard as he launched a new fundraising campaign at Berkeley Court retirement apartments in West Moors.
The actor, famous for his role as the jobsworth Warden Hodges in Dad’s Army, donned his iconic helmet as he got the new initiative underway.
The campaign was to raise £1,000 for Wessex Cancer Trust.
He was quite the gentleman during the event on October 27, 1990 – far from his pompous role as Hodges.
