MEMBERS of the Ringwood and Verwood Round Table put their best feet forward at Easter by helping a local pub with renovations.
On Good Friday (April 2) members of the round table rallied round and helped The London Tavern in Poulner with some manual labour.
Phil Hoyle, who owns The London Tavern and the former chairman of the round table, mentioned that work needed doing.
Chairman James Marley said: "The London Tavern has done loads to help us out in the past, and out of all of our members, Phil’s business has been hit the hardest due to Covid.
"He mentioned that the pub needed some work done so our members offered to be free labourers to help them. About 14 of us were round there at one point.
"We dug up the existing pub garden lawn and replaced it with an amazing all-weather artificial lawn, along with replacing the decking roof.
"Phil and the Tavern team have done loads for us, so if we can help, why would we not? We always think ‘let’s get stuck in’ and we don’t sit around and wait to start."
The work was completed in one day after the team started at 8am on Good Friday.
The Ringwood and Verwood Round Table plan on continuing to help good causes and organisations in the community as lockdown restrictions ease.
