POLICE were called to reports of a suspicious item which turned out to be a World War II fire extinguisher.
Trainee Police Community Support Officers manned a cordon in the Boscombe area after the discovery of the item yesterday.

They remained at the scene until the item was identified and were even joined by a passing dog.
The officers are in their second week of training with the Boscombe Neighbourhood Policing Team.
