BOURNEMOUTH has been named as the most popular spot for surfing along the south coast.
Data reveals that there are 720 searches for surf reports in the resort per month.
The research also showed that Boscombe was the third most popular place for surfers with 320 searches and Highcliffe was the fifth with 140.
Top in the UK was Croyde in north Devon with 2,900 searches.
That was followed by Newquay and Polzeath in Cornwall in joint second with 1,900 internet searches.
The research was carried out by tourists organisation Stay in Devon.
A spokesman for the organisation said: “With the end of lockdown on the horizon, the urge to get out, try new things, and be free again grows stronger throughout the UK.”
