A BOURNEMOUTH woman who spat at someone during the pandemic has avoided an immediate prison sentence.
Hayley Rose Nutland, 33, received a suspended sentence at Poole Magistrates' Court on April 29 after she admitted five charges relating to her conduct in Salisbury last year.
Nutland, whose address was given as Southcote Road, Bournemouth, assaulted a woman and used threatening or abusive words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour in the Wiltshire city on March 25, 2020.
The court was told that on May 13 she was seen drinking alcohol in Salisbury, which was in breach of a community protection notice.
Magistrates' heard that on July 30 she failed to comply with a dispersal order which required her to stay away from the city centre. The defendant had returned to the area within 48 hours of the notice being issued.
The following month, on August 22, she had an offensive weapon, namely a cricket bat, in The Maltings.
Nutland was committed to prison for 18 weeks, suspended for 18 months. This included an order to undergo drug dependency treatment for six months.
She was required to pay £200 compensation to the assault victim and the cricket bat was forfeited to police.
