POLICE have confirmed that a man has been arrested on suspicion of theft in relation to an investigation over a dog being stolen at Poole Quay.
As reported by the Daily Echo, German Shepherd puppy Bear was returned to his owners earlier this week.
Dorset Police launched an investigation and public appeal after the dog was stolen from outside Tesco Express on the quay at around 3.30pm on Friday, April 23.
The pooch was on a lead when it was reported that a man bent down and unclipped his lead, before running off with him.
Police said following enquiries Bear was located at an address in Poole and reunited with his owners.
A force spokesperson said: "We would like to thank the members of the public who came forward with information following the original appeal.
"A 35-year-old Poole man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and is currently assisting officers with their enquiries."
