POLICE were called to a residential area of Bournemouth this morning following reports of a man with a knife.
Officers attended an address in Cunningham Crescent, West Howe, after the force received a call raising a concern for the welfare of a man.
The road was closed while police dealt with the incident.
A force spokeswoman said: "Dorset Police was called at 9.25am on Tuesday, May 11, raising concern for the welfare of a man in an address on Cunningham Crescent in Bournemouth.
"It was reported that the man was in possession of a knife.
"The road was closed to allow for a safe resolution of the incident.
"At around 10.54am the man was brought to safety and detained in relation to the incident. He will be given the appropriate care."
