SIXTEEN new cases of Covid have been recorded across Dorset in the latest 24-hour period, government figures show.
The Department of Health and Social Care website shows nine new cases have been recorded across the BCP Council area in the 24-hours up to 5.44pm on Tuesday, May 11.
This brings the total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in BCP to 25,417.
Meanwhile, seven new cases were recorded in the Dorset Council area during the same period.
Since March, last year, 11,940 cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in the Dorset Council area.
The number of cases in the BCP area over the latest rolling seven-day period is 45, with a rate of 11.4 per 100,000 people. In Dorset 28 cases have been confirmed in the last past seven days. The case rate is 7.4 per 100,000.
In the New Forest there was just one new case recorded in latest 24-hour period.
The total in the district since the pandemic started is 6,217.
The rolling seven-day period for the New Forest is 16 cases, with a case rate is 8.9.
