A MAN suffered serious injuries after a crash on a main road in Dorset this afternoon.
The A351 Wareham Road was shut both ways following the collision at 1.27pm.
Traffic built up in the area, with the road shut off from the A35 at the Bakers Arms Roundabout, Lytchett Minster, to Holton Heath.
Police and ambulance were called to the scene.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 1.27pm to a report of a collision between the Bakers Arms Roundabout and Holton Heath on the A351.
"Officers have attended the scene, along with the ambulance service. Road closures were put in place."

Providing an update, the spokesman added: "One man was taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be serious.
"The road reopened at around 3.25pm."
