A WOMAN driver sped towards two horses being ridden on the road , before slowing down just to gesticulate and shout abuse before speeding off.
The incident, which is being investigated by police, took place close to a bridle lane on Hawthorn Road, Burton, Christchurch.
Police say the woman, who was driving a white Ford Escort, approached the two horses and riders 'at speed' before slowing down to stick her arm out of the window and gesticulate at one of the riders, before hurling abuse and driving off at speed.

Police Community support investigator Kate Hann, of Christchurch police, said: “Our enquiries are continuing to try and locate the driver of the Ford and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed what happened to please get in touch.
"I understand there were three people a short distance away at the time of the incident who were standing near a motorbike at the side of the road.
"I would urge these people to come forward as they may have information to assist my investigation.
"Finally, I would like to remind everyone to respect other road users and to pass wide and slow when passing a horse while driving."
The horse rider who was subject to the abuse was a woman in her 40s.
The incident took place around 11.15am on Friday, May 7.
