EXCITEMENT is already building following confirmation that the Red Arrows will be returning to the Bournemouth Air Festival this year.
The crowd favourites have not been at the event since 2018 but they will soon be back soaring across the skies over Poole Bay.
Organisers have confirmed the Red Arrows will display on every day of the air festival, which is taking place between Thursday, September 2, and Friday, Sunday 5.
While the Red Arrows have visited the town for many different displays over the decades, their flights at the air festival have always drawn the biggest crowds.
The announcement of the Royal Air Force Aeorbatic Team being booked this year was joined by news that the Typhoon and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will also be performing in a bumper year of action on the south coast for the RAF.
Last year's air festival was grounded by the coronavirus pandemic and the Red Arrows were not able to attend in 2019 due to landmark tour of North America.
Formed in 1964, the team’s mission remains the same – to represent and showcase the skills and values of the RAF, as well as support British industry, help defence diplomacy and aid recruitment for the armed forces.
