A MAN who disclosed private sexual material without the permission of a woman in the image has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Colin Prior, 67, avoided immediate custody when he appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday, May 17.
The defendant, whose address was given as Endfield Close, Christchurch, previously admitted a single charge of disclosing a private sexual photograph or film without the consent of a woman, who appeared in the image, with the intention of causing her distress in November 2020.
Deputy District Judge Clare Boichot committed Prior to prison for six months, suspended for two years.
Court papers state that the offence has had a significant affect on the victim in the short and long term.
Prior was ordered to complete up to 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
He was also issued with a five-year restraining order.
The judge ordered him to pay £2,000 compensation, a £128 surcharge and £85 towards prosecution costs.
