POLICE are stilling hunting for two robbers who stole a man's £5,000 e-bike in broad daylight.

The robbery the black Delfast Top 3.0 bicycle took place at the junction of Kinson Road and Canford Avenue in Bournemouth at around 1.40pm on Tuesday, May 18.

As reported, the victim, a man aged in his 30s, was stationary on his electric bicycle when he heard shouting from behind. He turned around and saw two men approaching him.

They pushed him off the bicycle and one cycled off on it down Canford Avenue, with the other man running alongside.

They were seen to turn into Daws Avenue and attempted to load the bicycle into a waiting black car, but were unsuccessful. The car drove off and the man on the bicycle left in the direction of Turbary Park Avenue.

The offenders were described as white and wearing dark-coloured tracksuits and face masks.

In a renewed appeal, PC Robin Morgan, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are continuing to investigate this matter and from our enquiries we believe it is possible the offenders followed the victim prior to the robbery.

“The victim travelled through Merley along Magna Road before turning into King John Avenue and then into Knights Road. He then went down High Howe Lane, over the Clock Garage roundabout and then right onto Turbary Park Avenue before going into Kinson Road where the robbery occurred.

“I would like to hear from anyone who was in any of these roads between around 12.30pm and 1.30pm on Tuesday 18 May 2021 and witnessed any suspicious activity involving a black car following an electric bicycle, or if you captured anything relevant on dashcam footage.”
