A WOMAN who stole pastries from Greggs in Bournemouth and committed an assault on a shop worker has been jailed.
Katie Milford, 25, carried out the theft of items from the bakery chain in Commercial Road on February 28.
During the same incident she assaulted a female member of staff by beating her at the premises.
Milford appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on May 19 and admitted charges of theft and assault by beating, as well breaches of a suspended sentence order made on February 6, 2020, and a community order made on August 26, 2020.
Deputy District Judge Clare Boichot committed the defendant, whose address was given as Westover Road, Bournemouth, to prison for a total of 16 weeks.
The judge noted the seriousness of the offences due to it being an assault on a shop worker attempting to prevent a crime, Milford’s record of offending and her being in breach of two court orders.
