A WALKER was airlifted from the Purbeck coast after she slipped and fell down a hill.
The woman suffered a possible spinal injury and was rushed to hospital following the rescue effort at Dancing Ledge on the afternoon of Wednesday, May 26.
Swanage Coastguard Team and South Western Ambulance attended the steep path between Dancing Ledge and Spyway farm.
The casualty was lifted to a safer location for an assessment before being flown to Southampton hospital.
A coastguard spokesperson said: "Colleagues from St Albans Coastguard were also tasked to assist and due to a possible spinal injury the Rescue Helicopter from Lee on Solent also attended.
"The female was airlifted from the steep slope and after a further assessment was taken by the Coastguard helicopter to Southampton hospital."
