PROPOSALS have been detailed on plans for an 18-metre mast to help provide 5G network coverage in an East Dorset village.
Hutchinson UK Ltd is seeking permission to install the monopole tower and wraparound cabinet in Wimborne Road, Colehill.
A prior notification telecoms application has been submitted to Dorset Council's planning department.
A statement filed in support of the scheme says there is a requirement to to upgrade the Three network to provide improved coverage and capacity.
The applicant says there is an "acute need" for a new mast in the area to deliver 5G services.
It adds: "Options are extremely limited and the only viable solution that minimises amenity issues has been put forward."
