A POPULAR attraction that will turn your world upside down is set to return to Bournemouth this year.

Plans have been submitted for the return of the Upside Down House near Pier Approach.

The two-storey upside down house that sits on its roof first made an appearance in the town on Saturday, November 10 2018 when it opened its doors in the Triangle.

The striking pink and black structure was nine months in the making for events company Upside Down House UK, and in 2018 it was the first time the house had been seen in Britain.

The planning application details "use of land for the temporary sitting of an 'Upside Down House' entertainment installation for a 12 month period", with the aim being to keep the house in Bournemouth until January 3 2022, providing planning goes well.

According to Upside Down House UK, Bournemouth is a special place as "this is where it all started."

A spokesperson said: "They (Bournemouth) gave us the opportunity to start something special that now employs people around the country, it just does not sit right if there is no house in Bournemouth. This time we are working with Seafront management, hence the change in location."

CEO at Upside Down House UK, Tom Dirse said: "We have been in conversations of bringing Upside Down House back to Bournemouth for a while, I am extremely happy that we finally came to an agreement and a site that all parties are happy with, of course, dependant on the planning decision."

By reintroducing the Upside Down House to Bournemouth, the company aims to attract more visitors to the town whilst supporting local businesses with the footfall.
