A MAN was stabbed in a Bournemouth road just before 6am today.
Emergency services are currently at the scene in Holdenhurst Road.
Police closed a section of the road in both directions between Springbourne roundabout and Bournemouth Railway Station.
A cordon has also been put in place and an investigation is underway.
A Dorset Police spokesman told the Daily Echo: "Dorset Police received a report at 5.52am that a man had sustained a suspected stab wound in Holdenhurst Road in Bournemouth.

"Officers have attended, along with the ambulance service, and one man has been taken to hospital with an injury which is believed to be serious.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and a cordon has been put in place to allow the emergency services to respond and for an examination of the scene to be carried out.
"A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and are assisting officers with their enquiries."
Witnesses said there were around five police cars at the scene along with the police helicopter.
Holdenhurst Road was closed in both directions following emergency service attendance at the scene.
The road has reopened although a cordon remains in place around an address.
A nearby resident said: “We were woken up by it. We heard some shouting and screaming.”
“There were loads of police here, around five cars and the helicopter was here too.
“They were holding something to his chest. There was a lot of blood. The police dogs were here walking up and down the road and police were getting stuff out of bins and going in and out of houses all along the road."
The resident, who did not wish to be named added: "It was at around 6am. We have to live with this sort of thing a lot.
“This is the second time this week we were woken up by police. Last week there were armed police here and a guy on the floor in handcuffs.
“We are looking to move. We love this place but we have had enough."
