A POPULAR Bournemouth fish and chip restaurant and takeaway has temporarily closed after four Covid cases were confirmed amongst staff.
Chez Fred in Westbourne said four members of staff who had met up socially outside of work were affected.
The eatery in Seamoor Road said all members of staff are now being tested and it would review reopening once the results have been returned.
It said the closure was a "precautionary measure" but "essential".
In a statement posted on Facebook at around 1pm on Sunday, June 27, Chez Fred said: “With great regret we are temporarily closed due to Covid19 infection to four of our team members who met up socially outside of work.
“All of our staff are now undergoing PCR tests, and we will review re-opening once we have the results of those tests.
Chez Fred added: “We apologise for any inconvenience, but feel that this precautionary measure is essential - From the very start of the pandemic we have done our utmost to operate as safely as possible, to protect the wellbeing of our team and customers, and will continue to do so.
“Sincere thanks for your understanding during this difficult time - we will keep you updated through our usual social channels and our website news page.”
