THE BOURNE Water Dragons has restarted its weekly sessions to help cancer survivors keep fit with dragon boating.
The group which is based on the River Stour in Christchurch, Dorset, welcomes both men and women that have been through any form of cancer.
Christine Bailey who helps run the group, says: “We offer a unique service to those who have been through cancer.
“The exercise and support within the team is so beneficial to the mind and body and we hope more people will join us when they see how much fun we have.
“It’s been a difficult year not being together through Covid but we’re back on the water.”
They will be paddling twice a week in the summer on a Thursday night and Sunday morning and on Sunday mornings for the rest of the year.
The group is currently fundraising for a new boat. Christine says: “With so many more people joining us we will soon need another boat.
“Being a charity we are trying to raise funds to help us achieve this as we want to reach more people to help with life after cancer.”
