A MAN who was caught at more than four times the drink drive limit 10 days after being at the wheel at almost three times the limit has avoided an immediate prison sentence.
Mark Hill Cousins committed the two driving offences in April.
He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of drink driving and was in the dock at and was in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on July 8 for sentencing.
The court that on April 12, Cousins, of Columbia Road, Bournemouth, drove a Citroen Saxo in Bournemouth Road, Poole, while he had 114 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit if 35 micrograms.
On April 22, the 48-year-old defendant drove the same vehicle in Columbia Road, Bournemouth, with 163 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The bench committed Cousins to prison for 18 weeks, suspended for 12 months, with an order to complete up to 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
He was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 36 months and ordered to pay a £500 fine, £128 surcharge and £85 costs.
