THE franchise that just won't die (unless, presumably, someone cuts off its head) limps on with this baffling offering.
More a sequel to the TV spin-off series than the movies, this sees Duncan McLeod teaming up with a bunch of similarly-undying wierdoes - including the dead spit of Rhydian off the X Factor - to find the mythical source of their immortality.
There's a lot of exposition that doesn't really tell you anything, and if you haven't at least seen Highlander 4 you'll be lost.
At one point in the middle, you think this isn't going to be too bad, but then it all gets a bit silly and the ending is both bewildering and banal. A good idea that fails to live up to its promise: how very Highlander.
