A SPECTACULAR array of acrobatic talent and drama is coming to Bournemouth this summer.
Circus Wonderland will be making Redhill Park in Moordown its home from Wednesday, July 21 until Sunday, August 1.
Last year's visit to the town was cancelled as a result of lockdown restrictions arising from the pandemic, but the troupe is finally set to return with their new production.
The circus will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with what they promise to be their "most spectacular show", featuring Cuban acrobats, trapeze artists, and resident clowns Kakehole and Mr.Popol.
Grace Garnett, who is the company director and features in the production as foot juggler Miss Grace Olivia, is pleased to be returning to the Dorset town.
She said: “We are so happy to be returning to Bournemouth once again, last year's visit was cancelled as we were in lockdown at this time.
“We only managed to tour for a few months towards the end of the year before we were closed down again in November, and have only just been allowed to open again now with the easing of restrictions."
Kriss Freear and Paul Carpenter are co-directors alongside playing comedy clown duo Kakehol and Mr. Popol at the circus.
The latter is played by Mr Carpenter, who is eagerly awaiting to return to the circus stage.
He said: “We are so happy to be back doing what we love.
“We were devastated when we could not open in February as usual, and we have just been sat in our yard in Wickham, practicing and praying that we would be able to go back on the road soon."
The circus troupe is hoping to be a popular attraction and bring some happiness to people’s faces.
Mr Carpenter added: “We are ready to put smiles on people's faces again.
“After the lockdown and so much doom and gloom and boredom, we think the clowns are needed more than ever before!"
Restrictions are set to be lifted entirely as of Monday, July 19 but the circus is keen to assure their visitors that some safety measures will remain in place.
Ms Garnett added: “We are aware that some people will still be cautious about visiting crowded places.
“We are relatively safe as we are classed as an outdoor event but we encourage our customers to wear facemasks, and the sides of the tent will be lifted to allow increased ventilation."
