Crossing over the River Stour on the Wimborne Canford Bridge back in 1959 as you can see from photo could be very dangerous, thankfully a safer footpath was built next to the bridge to protect pedestrians.
In 2008 the Canford footbridge, Wimborne Canford Bridge was repaired, and a cantilevered foot and cycle path was built on upstream side of the old bridge.
