MARGARET Green Animal Rescue will be hoping for a bumper turnout at their next dog show, which is scheduled for August 1.
The event, at the charity's Church Knowle rehoming and visitor centre, near Corfe Castle, is a major fundraiser for the organisation, which takes in pets that have become homeless and works to secure them permanent new homes.
This year's show, coming just a fortnight after England is due to move to the final stage of Covid restriction easing, boasts a number of attractions.
There will be three rings of classes, with contests such as the waggiest tail, child handler, best rescue dog and most appealing eyes.
A spokesman for Margaret Green Animal Rescue (MGAR) said: "Other attractions throughout the day will include have-a-go agility, which is a great favourite that can be enjoyed by all, hay bale hurdles, exotic animals from WorldLife, Wessex Wilderness Skills and Liberty’s Birds of Prey, where there will be the opportunity to meet beautiful birds and discover more about their work.
"The event will feature stalls from local traders and organisations, delicious festival food, a dog shop, tombola and live music to create the perfect atmosphere."
Tickets for MGAR's summer raffle will be on sale during the show, with raffle prizes including dinner for two worth £125 at Mortons Manor Hotel, horse riding for two at Eastmoors Riding School, a dog hamper and vouchers from Hug Pet Food and Seven Springs Studios.
The MGAR spokesman said: "The event will be a fabulous day out for everyone and all money raised from the event will go towards caring for rescue animals.
"It will be a great opportunity to support a local charity and get involved in the community, to help animals in need and make a real difference.
"Not only will it be a fun day, it will give attendees a wonderful feeling knowing that participating in the event will be supporting a good cause."
Gates open at 11am on Sunday, August 1, with the show ending around 4.30pm.
Attendees will be able to enter a dog show class on the day to win prizes and rosettes.
