THE coastguard was called to help an elderly woman experiencing symptoms of a heart attack near Stanpit Marsh.
Southbourne Coastguard and RNLI Mudeford Lifeboat were called to Grimmery Bank at around 1.40pm on Saturday.
A spokesperson for Southbourne Coastguard said: “Tasked at 1341 hours by the joint rescue coordination centre to reports of an elderly female with symptoms of a heart attack near Grimmery Bank, Stanpit Marsh.
“Due to the remote position RNLI Mudeford lifeboat were tasked and first on scene.
“With casualty details passed and the ambulance location near to Hengistbury Head it was decided to transfer the casualty to the outdoor education slip for further medical attention via ambulance.
“Once in the care of South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust technicians they confirmed that they were happy for us to stand down and so we returned to station.
“Lymington Coastguard also tasked for back up but stood down once on scene.”
