EMEREGENCY services have resumed searches today in an attempt to find missing man Callum Osborne-Ward.
The 18-year-old has been unaccounted for since an incident in the water off Rockley Park at around 4pm yesterday afternoon.
Extensive searches on land, sea and air took place late into the evening on Monday, July 26.
In a statement released shortly before 12pm today, July 27, Dorset Police said efforts to find Callum had resumed.
Support was being provided by a dive team from Devon & Cornwall Police and crews from Coastguard, RNLI, fire and ambulance services, as well as helicopters.
A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "Multi-agency searches are continuing today along the shoreline and in the water in an effort to try and find Callum.
"Dorset Police is working together with a dive team from Devon & Cornwall Police and colleagues from HM Coastguard, RNLI, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service, NPAS and Solent search and rescue helicopters.
"Yesterday, officers were also assisted by Dorset Search & Rescue (DorSAR)."
Search boats and the Coastguard helicopter have been seen in the area around Lake Pier this afternoon.
As reported, emergency services rushed to Rockley Point following concerns for people in the water.
Ten people were assessed by paramedics and three were taken to hospital as a precaution.
In a statement on Monday evening, Chief Inspector Glen Doran, of Dorset Police, said: “At this current time Callum remains unaccounted for and we cannot say for certain whether he is still in the water or has made it to land and is lost somewhere in the local area.
“We are working with the Coastguard and RNLI to carry out extensive searches of the water and shoreline and I am appealing to anyone who has any information as to his whereabouts – or who sees a young man matching the description given – to please contact us immediately.”
Callum is described as white, five feet five inches tall and with short brown hair. He has the word ‘Dad’ tattooed on his chest and was wearing blue swimming shorts.
