A DOG has 'escaped' from a hot car after police came to its rescue.
Buddy the dog was left in a car in Swanage yesterday. Four of the car's windows had been left open a few inches and the dog had been left some water, however, Purbeck Police officers did not deem this to be enough when the weather is warm.
Officers 'helped Buddy escape' and waited to speak to the dog's owners.
A spokesman for Purbeck Police said: "Buddy was locked in a car today in Swanage. Although four of the windows were left open a few inches and he had water.
"On a muggy day, like today, that’s just not enough. So we helped Buddy escape."
