General manager of seven years, Keith Darker said: "It's been a pub in one form or another since 1870 and it used to be called The Bull's Head. The pub has been the Bermuda Triangle since 1989.

"I have drunk in here since then and when the general manager job came up I was really happy."

The pub does not serve food, but this absence is not unwelcome as a wide range of drinks are provided.

Keith said: "The pub is well-known for its real ales and German beer (the former owner was a German lady).

"There are people locally who come specifically to the pub for the beer, and for the ales, people come from all over as we always have five different ales on at a time.

"The ales change all the time and follow what our customers like. I haven't found the perfect beer for them yet, one that everyone likes, but I'm hoping to.

"We do get some holidaymakers in here but it is a 'regulars pub'. It is busy every night and it is really well-known for hosting the after work crowds after 5pm every day."

The Bermuda Triangle's array of decorations adds to the pub's uniqueness.

Keith said: "The pub is quite quirky and full of a collection of items, such as things that might be found in the Bermuda Triangle and local items too.

"There is an aeroplane wing on the ceiling, a fake shark's head above a door and various nautical bits and pieces and car number plates from all over the world."

The pub also boasts more than a variety of ales and quirky decor.

Keith added: "We also have a cocktail bar upstairs that opened about three years ago. It's known as The Gin Bar as it hosts about 25 gins up there.

"Last year, before Covid, we installed a new outside terrace that looks down on our patio. This has given us more outdoor space that seats over 100 people. That has been a big plus as everyone wants to stay outside.

"Next month we're going to open a small cafe shop on the side of the pub. With our outside seating, it would be great to use it in the day as well.

"There are plenty of coffee shops in Ashley Cross, but we thought that there is room for one more.

"We also do live music, which will be starting back up again this Saturday (July 31). It's mostly local bands that perform but we have every type of music."
