A FORMER British Army officer from Lymington is now heading up his new venture of cannabis oil products.

Farard Darver retired after more than 16 years in the army to launch his business Healthcare International Research, a business he started three years ago which makes and sells cosmetics and health products using cannabidiol (CBD).

CBD is the second most prevalent active ingredient of cannabis. However, the non-intoxicating compound is legal to buy in the UK provided it meets certain standards.

Many believe it has a range of therapeutic benefits such as reducing anxiety and stress.

Farard said: “We manufacture and sell CBD cosmetic and health products that have been formulated by the world’s leading scientific based cannabinoid research company based in the Czech Republic.

The Czechs were the first scientists to discover Cannabidiol (CBD), one of many cannabinoids found in the Hemp plant, in 1955.

They have harnessed 65 years of research that has been conducted and have a wealth of clinical and scientific data on the formulation of cosmetic CBD and health products.

Farard's company has two brands, Hempe and MotherSage, which offer a range of products including balms, body butter and bath salts.

Since focussing on his new business over the last three months, Farard has managed to secure a place at Europe’s biggest beauty show, Professional Beauty, in the Excel in London as well as the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival, both of which are to be held in October.

Farard has also seen his MotherSag CBD Anti Cellulite & Slimming Gel nominated for product of the year at the 2021 Heropreneurs Awards.

The 42-year-old says that hope that his company can become a global brand associated with the use of CBD in cosmetic and lifestyle applications.

“I am creating the conditions for HIR to become the authoritative voice on the use of CBD in cosmetic and lifestyle applications, demonstrated by our credentials that show we are driven by science and regulatory compliance, resulting in products that are truly lifestyle changing

“We currently sell online and in Scoltocks Health Foods, which is a local business in Ringwood and New Milton, and I am seeking opportunities to expand into other local stores.

“HIR has sales in Ireland, Spain and will soon be expanding into other EU countries as we have a European distribution centre established in Austria which services any European orders.

“I am currently in talks with three different distributors spanning from Mexico to South Africa.”
