COASTGUARD teams were called to rescue a dog who had fallen off the edge of a cliff.
Southbourne Coastguard was called at 11.31am on Monday to the cliff at Barton-on-Sea.
A spokesperson said: “Tasked at 11.31am by the joint rescue coordination centre to reports of a dog over the cliff at Barton-on-Sea near to the Naish Holiday Village.
“Once on scene we set up cliff rescue operation alongside Lymington Coastguard and deployed cliff tech with animal rescue bag down cliff to recover Ruby who had fallen approximately five meters down onto a ledge above the mud flats.
“After a quick visual check over she was carefully put into the rescue bag then both her and the cliff technician were recovered to the top where she was reunited with her owner and although Ruby appeared ok it was recommended she be taken for a check-up at the vets.
“With all equipment restowed teams stood down and returned to station.”
