The iconic weekly firework displays are confirmed to be coming back to Bournemouth Pier tomorrow night for the first time this summer.

Last year the firework displays were cancelled as a result of the pandemic but BCP Council has confirmed to the Echo that they are currently scheduled to go ahead tomorrow as planned.

Part of Festival Coast Live, the event is expected to draw big crowds around Pier Approach and the Lower Gardens on Friday August 6.

The free display will see fireworks light up the sky at 10pm with visitors encouraged by the organisers website to make a night of it by visiting a local bar or restaurant beforehand and then pull up a deck chair at their favourite spot on the coastline to enjoy the show.

Cllr Beverly Dunlop, BCP Council lead member for Festival Coast Live, said: “Everyone involved in organising this year’s events has gone above and beyond to ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy world-class outdoor entertainment, in line with ongoing government guidelines.

“We’re really looking forward to hosting this exciting and popular event.”

Last week Poole Quay hosted their inaugural week of displays on Thursday July 29, where their own displays will be hosted every Thursday until September 2 with free live music and entertainment; hosted by CityFibre.

The Bournemouth firework displays are due to be ongoing throughout August every Friday and then ending on September 3.

Those heading down will be treated to a whole host of gorgeous pyrotechnic delights along the Bournemouth seafront.

Pier Approach will be expected to be very busy with the popular weekly feature always bringing a large crowd of locals and tourists to admire the night display as people kick off their weekend with a bang.

However, changes can occur in regard to events and visitors for the future shows are encouraged to check the official tourism social media channels and the organiser’s website to stay up-to-date.
