TRUMPET star Steve Graham brings the authentic sounds of the original New Orleans jazz bands to the Barrington Theatre in Ferndown tomorrow.
One of the most revered trumpeters in the world of traditional jazz, he leads a seven-piece band that he calls simply Steve Graham's Classic Jazz.
The Kings of Jazz theme is reflected in tributes to New Orleans legends such as King Oliver, Louis Armstrong and Jelly Roll Morton.
Graham's precise trumpet playing will be supported by the driving cornet of Dave Martin as they reproduce the famous duets of King Oliver and Louis Armstrong.
The front line is completed by trombonist Tom Whittingham and one of the UK's top reedsmen, John Wurr, pictured, who is a master of the clarinet and the saxophone family.
Leading the rhythm section is pianist Mike Denham, who is building a huge solo reputation as the piano wizard of Wessex.
The concert is promoted by local jazz agency SootsJazz, which says it hopes to make the Barrington a regular centre for top-flight jazz.
