A CELEBRATION of Indian culture took over part of Poole Park on Sunday.
Dorset Indian Mela delivered live music, handicrafts, food stalls and henna painting, all in aid of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity.
A spokesperson from the charity said: “It’s been very good, it’s really nice to have people getting back out together, especially with the Indian culture and the dancing is beautiful.
“It’s so nice to see so many people and taste so many curries, it’s been really good to have everyone back in Poole Park.”
The event attracted a large crowd who joined in with the dancing and music on the live stage.
It was a lovely family friendly event with a great atmosphere and lots of food and entertainment.
Organisers Louis Sajee Kutty, Bibin Venunath and Manoj Pillai said: “This was a good day, to start off with it was a bit cloudy, rainy and windy but it ended up nice. We’ve had a good turnout and a good audience, so the day is going well.
“There has been amazing food, amazing performances, from all different parts of India and it’s all for a good cause. Thank you to everyone who turned up today.”
