A GROUP of volunteers in Westbourne is appealing to residents to join them in smartening up the appearance of a local heritage site.
Friends of Skerryvore, a group set up in September 2019, will be meeting again on Saturday, August 21, between 9.30am and 12pm.
The group will continue to undertake gardening work on the grounds of Scottish novelist Robert Louis Stevenson’s former residence.
Organiser Revd Chris Colledge said: “Please come and give some time to care for this part of Westbourne's Historical Heritage where Robert Louis Stevenson once lived.
“The local community is working hard to look after and improve the area which provides a place of tranquillity and beauty for people to come and enjoy.
“Although some tools are provided, please also bring any that you can use to cut back overgrowth and remove weeds.
“Bring one's own refreshments and anything else that is personally required for health, safety and wellbeing.”
