THE weekend is closing in and we may finally have some weather to look forward to.

August has been arguably disappointing and meek, with overcast days and rain throughout the month.

As the summer draws to a close Mother Nature has finally started to smile on us all with highs of 22C forecast this weekend.

Although Saturday will start off overcast and a little rainy, the cloud will lift by mid-afternoon and the sun will peek through.

The weather will consistently improve throughout the weekend with sunshine on Sunday and highs of 22C.

As we enter next week, forecasters are predicting wall to wall sunshine so it could finally be time to stock up on the sun screen.

For the rest of today, Friday, August 20, the weather will be staying overcast though it should stay dry with no rain predicted.
