IT IS the last weekend of August, but does that mean it will be warm and dry enough for a barbecue?

The weather this month has been particularly hit or miss, with some gloriously sunny spells and equally bleak downpours.

Luckily the outlook for the weekend seems to be picking up, with temperatures rising and the sun finally coming out.

Today the Met Office predicts bouts of cloud in the morning which will lift to reveal a bright and warm afternoon.

Local forecaster Bournemouth and Poole Weather said: "The weekend looks set to be fair.

"It should remain dry right through the weekend, cloud amounts a little uncertain but at the moment I’d expect decent sunny spells right through Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

"Certainly no heatwave but with temperatures at 22-24C it’s going to be pretty nice and much better than a large portion of what we’ve endured this summer."
