AN AUDI motorist has been fined £2,500 for drink driving and failing to stop after a crash in Poole.
Christopher John Longden, 40 and of Lime Kiln Road, Lytchett Matravers, appeared in the dock at Poole Magistrates’ Court on August 20.
The defendant pleaded guilty to driving a 2016 registration plate Audi in Dorchester Road, Poole, on May 30, 2020, with 148 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood – the legal limit is 80 milligrams.
He also admitted a separate charge of being the driver of a vehicle owing to the presence of which an incident occurred whereby damage was caused to property forming part of the land in the road or adjacent to it and failing to stop.
District Judge Stephen Nicholls issued the hefty fine, alongside an order to pay a £190 surcharge and £300 costs.
Longden was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
