CHARITY DocBike has announced their first charity ride of the year in Dorset.
The event will take place on Sunday September 26, with people able to register from Wednesday August 25.
Starting at the Churchill Arms, Alderholt, the route will be 30 miles and finishes at Henstridge Airfield on the county’s border with Somerset between 8.30am-10am.
Ahead of the ride Co-Founder and Trustee of the charity, Dr Ian Mew, said: “The DocBike charity has worked very hard supporting partner organisations over the years to keep motorcyclists on two wheels.
“We are thrilled that the first ride out that the charity has ever organised is happening here in Dorset, where the DocBike began.”
Over the course of the past 18 months the organisation has severely been affected by the pandemic in its ability to engage with the public and raise awareness of how people can upskill their ride.
As well as teaching people how to keep injured fellow motorcyclists alive while they await treatment from the emergency services.
Dr Mew added: “We are here to keep bikers on two wheels, so we hope that this ride out will help to raise vital funds, but also raise awareness to achieve our goal."
