A BRANKSOME man is set to paddle down the River Thames non-stop later this month in a gruelling fundraiser.
David Haze, 36, a consultant in the criminal justice system, will paddle 208km down the river to fundraise for the Alliance of Sport and to break more world records.
His previous challenge saw him paddle across the four longest lakes in the UK, achieving four world records.
David said: "I hit more target for my last challenge, which was completing my four lakes in four days challenge and achieving the world records.
"Now, I’m going to paddle down the River Thames non-stop. The current record is two days, 14 hours and eight minutes so I’m aiming to do it in under two days. My target is 36 hours.
"I want to continue my fundraising efforts for Alliance of Sport and continue pushing myself and my capabilities to know what I can do."
David will set off from Gloucestershire on September 21 and hopes to raise £3,000 for Alliance of Sport, which he is an ambassador for.
He said: "I’m really hoping to hit my fundraising target of £3,000.
"I have never paddled this length before, so I am going to see what my body can do."
