EYES were on the sky for the final time on day one of the Bournemouth Air Festival as the night air display dazzled crowds.
Crowds remained on the beach and packed the pier as the Rolls Royce Spitfire, RAF Typhoon, Tigers FFT Parachute Team and the Fireflies drew the first day of the festival to a close.
The Rolls Royce Spitfire was first up, circling around Bournemouth’s seafront, dipping and diving from various altitudes.
Next up was the thunderous RAF Typhoon which came belting overhead, piloted with precision by Flt Lt James Sainty.

The noise could be heard for miles and have children covering their ears and watching on in amazement.
The Tigers FFT Parachute Team then showed off their impressive skills by racing from thousands of feet in the air to a marker on the ground.
Seven parachute jumpers fell from the sky, leaving a trail of pyrotechnics behind them.
And the pyrotechnics didn’t end there as the Fireflies closed the display.
Jon Gowdy and Andy Durston lit up the night sky with a beautiful display and created a fitting end to the first day of the return of the festival.
The display teams will all return to the festival tomorrow evening for another night time display.
