TWO people onboard a biplane that ditched into the water at Sandbanks on Saturday have been discharged from hospital.
The incident, involving a wingwalkers biplane, occurred following a display at the Bournemouth Air Festival.
Air Festival director Jon Weaver said on Sunday morning that the pair have since been discharged from hospital.
The Air Accidents Investigations Branch is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
An AAIB spokesperson said: “The AAIB was informed of an incident yesterday afternoon and will be investigating the circumstances, but has not deployed a team to the site.”
Police are currently on the scene of the crash at Sandbanks this morning.
A Dorset Police statement on Saturday said: “The aircraft was part of the Bournemouth Air Festival flight schedule with two people reported to be onboard.
“Both occupants have been rescued and are reported to have sustained minor injuries. They are receiving treatment by the ambulance service.”
Flying will resume at Bournemouth Air Festival today after the rest of Saturday’s displays were halted following the incident.
