VOLUNTEERS at Poole Lifeboat Station have paid tributes to Only Fools and Horses star John Challis who died at the age of 79.
The English actor, also know for his role in ITV sitcom Benidorm, died on September 19 following a long battle cancer.
The television star was an “avid supporter” of the charity having raised £1,000 for Poole Lifeboat Station back in 2015.
Poole Lifeboat Station said: “We are saddened to hear of the passing of John Challis.
“John has always been an avid supporter of the RNLI and of us here at Poole Lifeboat Station.
“In 2015, as part of his tour John entertained an audience which helped raise over £1,000 for Poole Lifeboat Station.
“During his visit to Poole we welcomed John onboard the lifeboat for a trip out to sea.
“Our thoughts are with his family and friends.”
