ONE of Britain’s best-known modern-day adventurers will be inspiring business leaders this November as he opens the BCP Business Festival.
An Evening With Alastair Humphreys will be the first event of the 10-day programme of free events for business leaders, designed to help them bounce back from the impact of the pandemic.
Mr Humphries, who has authored 13 books, will talk about his expeditions to more than 80 countries by bicycle, boat and on foot – and about how everyone can introduce everyday adventures into their lives.
He will speak on Wednesday, November 17, 6pm-9.30pm, at Bournemouth’s Pavilion.
Named as one of National Geographic’s Adventurers of the Year in 2012, he has walked across southern India, rowed across the Atlantic Ocean, run six marathons through the Sahara desert, taken part in an expedition in the Arctic – and walked 120 miles around the M25, as one of his “microadventures”.
Business leaders attending the evening event will also be able to take part in an open Q&A, followed by a drinks reception and networking opportunity.
Funded by BCP Council’s Bounce Back Fund and backed by the Daily Echo, the BCP Business Festival is being organised by the Poole-based community for entrepreneurs and business leaders, Evolve, in partnership with business and tax advisors, Inspire.
Warren Munson, founder of Evolve, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Alastair to open the BCP Business Festival this year.
“His achievements are an incredible inspiration and I know that many local business leaders will be eager to hear about Alastair’s adventures and how they translate what they have heard into their own everyday adventures and motivation for their own businesses. It’s set to be an outstanding evening.”
The BCP Business Festival offers events, workshops, panel discussions and inspirational speakers designed to give business leaders the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, learn something new and be ready to take advantage of opportunities as the country emerges from the pandemic.
Events run from November 17-26.
