ICELAND are set to open a new store in Christchurch next month.
The supermarket chain is due to open its newest shop in Saxon Square in the vacant Poundstretcher store.
Iceland Foods Ltd have submitted four separate planning applications. They include new signage at the front and rear of the site and the installation of a new air conditioning unit.
Also, the addition of fire exit door access ladder to existing rooftop plant and the installation of a new shopfront complete with two sets of bi-parting entrance/exit doors
The store will be spread over the ground floor but will cover an area of 1,200 metres squared.
It is not proposed to extend the property and therefore the scale of the unit within the street scene will remain unchanged.
Work is underway on the new supermarket chain which is expected to open in November.
