A CARE home in Poole has teamed up with a Wareham primary school for a pen pal project in recognition of International Day of Older Persons.
Upton Bay Care Home in Hamworthy and pupils in years 1 to 4 St Mary and St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Wool came together on Friday October 1 for the launch of their new intergeneration initiative.
Girls and boys at the school wrote letters to the residents, sharing a bit about life as a youngster, and asking insightful questions about what life was life for residents when they were children.

Reg, a resident at the home, said: "How sweet they're thinking of us - I've got a lot of memories to share.
"I've no doubt life is very different now from when I was a lad."
Students asked questions such as 'what was life like during the war', and 'tell me about the science you learned at school'.
Ladies and gents at Upton Bay adored the letters and have been excitedly penning their replies to send back to the school.
