A 62-year-old man from Wimborne died after a car accident near Bournemouth Airport on Monday morning.
He was driving a white Mercedes Sprinter van when he lost control of the vehicle on West Parley Lane at about 5.40am.
The van left the road and crashed through the airport's security barrier but it came to a stop before it reached the runway.
The driver was taken to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital but was declared dead shortly after arriving.
Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the accident or the van driving before it left the road should contact Police Constable Paul Bishop from Ferndown road policing unit on 01202 222222.
