COMMUNTERS in Ringwood experienced a hold-up on the A31 yesterday morning after a swan was seen waddling along the dual carriageway.
The large bird was seen walking slowly near the Ringwood turning on the eastbound side at around 10am on Saturday October 16.
Richard Stainer was driving his daughter Marley Vanstone-Stainer and her three teammates, who all play for New Milton Town Ladies u14s, to an away game at AFC Porchester when they came across the cygnet.
He said: “We had been sat in traffic for five minutes before we got to the front and my daughter took the video. I’m guessing it was a young swan as it still had quite a bit of brown in the feathers.”
In the video, the swan can be seen waddling along the road before taking off, only to land and sit close to the slipway.
It is understood the swan was not harmed on the motorway and flew off soon after the video ended.
