WORDS of comfort have been extended to the family of a 23-year-old man who died following a stabbing in a New Forest town.
A murder probe has been launched after a 23-year-old man died outside the Royal British Legion club in Lymington High Street.
Paramedics raced to the scene, however, the man was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before midnight last night.
The Lymington Royal British Legion has now issued a statement online, saying: "It's with great sadness that a serious incident occurred outside the club last night, next to Barclays Bank.
"Our thoughts remain with the family of the young man who was killed.

Hampshire Constabulary said another 23-year-old man sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at Southampton General Hospital.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old woman suffered chest wounds and is also being treated in the same hospital.
Four people from Lymington have all since been arrested in connection with the incidents.
Three men aged 29, 20 and 18, and a 14-year-old boy.
